Vanya was a member of the Inquisition between roughly 9:42 and 9:45, also in the Forces division. His Templar status was common knowledge, and less firmly "former," at the time, though he was romantically involved with a mage. • A small box, which no longer holds any tobacco, but still smells of it. Inside, there's a handsome quill made from a large, shed griffon feather. It may or may not belong to Pampelmousse, but it's at least near the right grey.


• A smooth, polished stone of jade green (whether it is jade or not is a question left unanswered) with a divot worked into one side--a worry stone


• A small dragon figure set on a base, able to fit in the palm of a hand, carved out of wood

• The Knotty Governess, a five page choose your own adventure slash instructional pamphlet about a young lady who gets out of various binds (metaphorical) with various binds (literal)

• A small rectangular tin fit for traveling


• A medium-sized, soft-cover leather bound book with about 100 pressed pages, with a very sensible writing utensil. A note tucked inside: "For your thoughts, when they have nowhere to go in the silence. It may seem silly or foolish, but even the simple act of writing can help. And if this is an activity you already indulge in, please consider this a sign to continue. But for when writing isn't enough, I am always here for you. - M."


• A scarf that matches the Riftwatch uniform


• A (mottled and grayish, and clearly the product of melted scrap) metal paperweight cast in a highly geometric rendition of Noose the Gallows dog. His identity is decipherable thanks in large part to holding his namesake in his mouth.

Loose notes

• A card written in Trade, addressed to Riftwatch at large, and dated earlier in the year. It expresses gratitude for their role in defending the city, and describes — in passing — being struck by the sight of a man on a griffon, continuing the fight armed with only a shield.


• In elementary but beautifully-handwritten Nevarran, a thank you note: "Thank you for protecting us. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your kindness. I like our lessons and I hope you do too. Payment is still coming." A post-script in Trade follows: "I think I got that all right, but you must let me know if I made any mistakes at our next lesson!"


• A little card with a sketch of two people riding a chariot. The chariot is actually pretty detailed and not a bad rendering. The people are basically stick figures.
